History
Since the end of the nineteenth century, underground infrastructure networks have multiplied in
order to make new technologies accessible and to satisfy the ever-increasing need for energy from
various sources. Underground, there is a vast web of intertwined sewers, water mains,
telecommunications networks, electricity and gas distribution networks, and more. Obviously, over
the years, these underground networks become more and more complex, which increases the risk of breakage during excavation work. The importance of preventing damage to underground infrastructures was first felt in Tiberias following major incidents that cost the lives of citizens.
